Asia Pacific DBT Institute’s Services:

What we Do

Guided by a commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence, and continuous innovation, the Asia Pacific DBT Institute, through the Australian DBT Institute and associated services, has supported thousands of clients since 2004. Our professional development programs have empowered numerous mental health practitioners in their journey toward delivering DBT and trauma-informed care.

Education

We provide professional development services, offering evidence-based training, supervision, and continuing education in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed care for mental health professionals across the Asia Pacific region.

Clinical

Our clinical services are offered in-person and via telehealth, and include individual therapy, group skills training, and intensive retreat programs. All care is trauma-informed and delivered by highly trained clinicians across Australia and Southeast Asia.

Online

Our clinics, skills groups, stabilisation programs, and professional development provide high-quality, trauma-informed DBT and RO‑DBT services, backed by research and delivered by credentialed clinicians, are all via accessible telehealth.

What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based therapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness to help individuals manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build a life worth living.

WISE Mind Retreats

Our permanent retreat centre is located in Khao Lak, Thailand, providing a serene and supportive environment for healing and growth. We offer DBT-based retreats for individuals experiencing emotion regulation difficulties, alongside professional development retreats designed specifically for mental health practitioners seeking advanced training and rejuvenation.

Why online Services?

“ We conducted a range of research activities that demonstrated online delivery of DBT achieves comparable outcomes to in-person treatment. Importantly, online service delivery expands access to individuals who might otherwise be unable to participate in DBT programs due to barriers such as social anxiety, geographical isolation, or other logistical challenges. ”
